ABSTRACT
The article analyzes the union action taken by the workers of the automaker Mercedes Benz between 1973 and 1983. From the reconstruction of the conflicts led by the workers and the actions of repression made by the company and the State, we debate the nature of the working action under the dictatorship (continuity or rupture; offensive or defensive). To rebuild the workers and repressive actions different sources were used: interviews with ex-employees of the company, records of the Intelligence Directorate of the Police of the province of Buenos Aires (DIPBA), newspaper articles, from both political forces at work in the factory and the national press, and information from judicial proceedings conducted for the crimes against humanity committed during the military dictatorship.
