ABSTRACT
In this paper we offer a critical reconstruction of the debate regarding Marx´s solution to the problem of complex labour determination in value production, as well as present an alternative solution that aims to be consistent with the foundations of Marx´s critique of political economy. The main argument is that, in the first place, differences in the complexity of labour are deleted from the value-form due to the determination of labour objectified in the commodity as a simple labour. And, in the second place, that the proportion in which complex labour is represented as more value is exclusively determined by the expenditure of human labour that the skilled labourer has to perform in order to reproduce his own labour-power.
